Daniel Lozakovich makes his first appearance at Verbier alongside his brother, pianist Timothy, who is now 20 years old. A moment of grace not to be missed, as the communion between these two young musicians is truly extraordinary.
This program offers a captivating musical journey through the centuries. It begins with the Baroque genius of Bach and Händel, presented arrangements for violin and piano that blend virtuosity with contrapuntal finesse. Next come the great Romantic and post-Romantic works: Rachmaninoff and Scriabin showcase rich harmonies and intense melodies, while Fauré brings subtle and delicate poetry. The famous Prelude and Allegro by Kreisler highlights the violin’s virtuosity in an elegant and brilliant style, before concluding with the emotional depth of Mahler in Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen, from the Rückert-Lieder. This program unites technical mastery, expressiveness, and musical sensitivity in a vibrant and captivating performance.
