Programme

Overview

Experience a chamber music journey from Beethoven’s expansive Op.70 No.2 through Shostakovich’s fiery 1923 Trio, Isidora Žebeljan’s haunting Sarabande, and Mendelssohn’s stormy D minor finale. An evening of bold contrasts and emotional depth awaits.Experience a journey through the heart of chamber music: Beethoven’s expansive Piano Trio Op.70 No.2 opens the programme with grandeur and warm lyricism, immediately giving way to the propulsive energy and crisp dissonances of Shostakovich’s 1923 Trio. Next, Isidora Žebeljan’s Sarabande enchants with its haunting melody and understated elegance, creating a moment of introspective calm. Finally, Mendelssohn’s beloved Trio in D minor delivers a riveting conclusion, its tempestuous swirling themes balanced by passages of tender beauty. These four works—each a study in contrast—unfold over a single evening, promising an emotional panorama that ranges from bold drama to serene intimacy.
